Overview

The LAUDA Alpha RA 8 is a refrigerated thermostatic bath and circulator covering a working temperature range of −25 °C to 100 °C, with control stability of ±0.05 °C. It is the entry point to refrigerated circulation: a single unit heats and cools, so the same bath serves reactions at low temperature and incubations above ambient.

The bath is stainless steel with a maximum volume of 7.5 litres and a bath opening of 165 × 190 mm. Heating power is 1.5 kW and cooling capacity is 0.225 kW at 20 °C, delivered through a compressor that runs only when needed (automatic compressor control) to save energy. The pressure pump gives up to 0.2 bar and 15 L/min, with flow reduction available.

Operation is deliberately simple: a one-line LED display shows actual or set temperature and three keys cover the menu. Low-level and overtemperature protection are provided for use with non-flammable liquids, with audible and visual alarms.
