Ultrasonic Cleaners

An ultrasonic cleaner sends high-frequency sound through a liquid bath. Millions of tiny bubbles form and collapse against the surface of the items, lifting off dirt, grease and residue from places a brush cannot reach. Laboratories also use ultrasonic baths to degas solvents and dissolve samples. CSI Labshop supplies ultrasonic cleaners to laboratories, workshops and production sites across Malaysia.

Tell us the size of the largest item you clean, how many items per load and whether you need heating, and we will recommend a model and send a quotation.

How laboratories use ultrasonic cleaners

  • Glassware and small parts such as pipettes, burettes, sieves and nozzles come out clean without scrubbing.
  • Sample preparation uses the bath to dissolve samples and to remove air from solvents and HPLC mobile phases.
  • Electronics and engineering remove flux, grease and dust from components and machined parts.
  • Bulky items go into large tanks such as the DAIHAN 30–74 litre systems.

Types of ultrasonic cleaner

  • Branson benchtop cleaners at 40 kHz in five tank sizes: the 1800 (½ gallon), 2800 (¾ gallon), 3800 (1½ gallon), 5800 (2½ gallon) and 8800 (5½ gallon).
  • Analog cleaners with a simple timer and heater. See the Daihan analog ultrasonic cleaners (28 or 40 kHz, up to 85 °C, 0 to 30 minutes).
  • Digital cleaners with microprocessor control of time, temperature and power. See the Daihan digital ultrasonic cleaners (3.3, 6, 10 and 22 litres, up to 80 °C, with basket and lid).
  • Large-capacity cleaners for big parts and high volumes. See the Daihan large-capacity ultrasonic cleaners (30 to 74 litres, with remote generator and drain valve).

How to choose an ultrasonic cleaner

  • Tank size: items must sit fully under the liquid and should not touch the tank floor, so choose a tank larger than your biggest item and use a basket.
  • Frequency: 40 kHz suits general lab cleaning; lower frequencies such as 28 kHz give stronger action on heavy dirt.
  • Heating: warm liquid, typically 50 to 60 °C, cleans grease and oil faster.
  • Cleaning liquid: use water with a suitable detergent rather than plain water; the detergent helps lift the dirt.
  • Controls: digital models repeat the same time and temperature, which helps for documented cleaning and degassing.

Brands we can supply

  • Branson (USA): 1800, 2800, 3800, 5800 and 8800 benchtop cleaners
  • Daihan Scientific (Korea): analog, digital and large-capacity cleaners

Frequently asked questions

What can I clean in an ultrasonic cleaner?

Glassware, pipette parts, sieves, metal instruments, small machine parts, filters, jewellery and electronic boards made for ultrasonic cleaning. Avoid soft or porous items that can be damaged by vibration.

Can I use solvents in an ultrasonic bath?

Do not pour flammable solvents directly into the tank. Put the solvent in a closed beaker and stand it in the water bath, which also works for degassing HPLC solvents.

Can you replace an older Branson model?

Yes. Send us the model you have, such as a Branson 8510, and we will suggest a current model with a similar tank size.

How much does an ultrasonic cleaner cost in Malaysia?

The price depends on tank size, heating, controls and frequency. Send us your requirements for a quotation.

Not sure which model fits?

Tell us your application, sample type and budget. We’ll suggest suitable models from the brands we supply and send one quotation.
