Safety & Protective Wear

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is the last line of protection for people working with chemicals, heat, noise and machines. The right PPE depends on the hazard: splash, dust, sharp objects, heat, noise or falls.

CSI Labshop supplies Fisher Scientific PPE to laboratories, workshops and plants across Malaysia. Send us your list, sizes and quantities, and we will quote for the whole order.

How workplaces use PPE

  • Laboratories equip staff with lab coats, safety glasses and goggles for chemical work.
  • Workshops and plants protect hearing, heads and feet around machinery and heavy parts.
  • Maintenance teams use fall-protection harnesses for work at height and inside tanks.
  • Wet and hot areas need fluid-resistant or heat-resistant clothing and footwear.

Types of protective equipment

How to choose lab PPE

  • Start from the hazard: check the safety data sheet of each chemical and your risk assessment for the protection needed.
  • Eyes first: safety glasses for general lab work; sealed goggles for liquids that splash; a face shield over goggles for larger volumes of acid or hot liquid.
  • Fit and comfort: PPE that fits is worn. Order a range of sizes for your team.
  • Keep spares: stock disposable items such as ear plugs and overshoes for visitors and new staff.
