Carbolite® Muffle Furnace
Carbolite Gero is a long-established maker of laboratory furnaces. Its chamber furnaces heat samples to 1,100–1,300 °C for ashing and heat treatment, and its tube furnaces heat a sample inside a tube, where the atmosphere around it can be controlled.
Tell us the maximum temperature, the chamber size and what you will heat, and we will recommend a model and send a quotation.
Carbolite furnaces we can supply
- ELF chamber furnaces: up to 1,100 °C in 6, 14 or 23 litres, with a drop-down door and a delayed start and process timer, such as the ELF 11/6B and ELF 11/14B.
- CWF chamber furnaces: up to 1,100, 1,200 or 1,300 °C in 5 to 65 litres, with a parallel-action door that keeps the hot face away from the user.
- Wire-wound tube furnaces, such as the MTF 10/25/130 (1,000 °C, 25 mm tube) and the MTF 12/38/250 (1,200 °C, 38 mm tube).
How laboratories use Carbolite furnaces
- Ash content: food, feed and palm oil laboratories burn off organic matter to measure ash.
- Loss on ignition: cement, soil and mineral laboratories heat samples to a set temperature and record the weight lost.
- Heat treatment and materials research: metals, ceramics and catalysts are annealed or tested at high temperature, in a tube furnace when a gas atmosphere is needed.
