Branson Sonifier® ultrasonic cell disruptor / homogenizers
Branson Sonifier® ultrasonic cell disruptor / homogenizers are versatile laboratory units suitable for a broad range of liquid processing applications.
Each model consists of a power supply, a converter, and a mechanical probe or horn. The power supply/converter changes standard electrical power to high frequency mechanical energy, which is then applied to the horn, where it is further amplified for use (often with specialized accessories).
Cell disruption, homogenization, and emulsification as induced by teh Sonifier cell idsruptor is the resul tof cavitation, created by ultrasonic vibrations. The converter transmits vibration through the horn into the sample to be processed through this cavitation. The ultrasonic vibrations transmitted through the horn can also be applied directly or indirectly to samples, using a variety of specifically designed horns, tips, chambers, or cup horns.


Sonifier® S-250A analog ultrasonic processor includes many features to make the technician’s work easier.

Branson Sonifier digital products take advantage of benefits of digital technology. This is particularly useful where precise process control and parameter measurement is required. These 20 kHz units include automatic amplitude control, broad-band tuning, and enhanced features.
Each model consists of a power supply, a converter, and a probe. The converter changes standard electrical power to high frequency mechanical energy, which is then applied to the probe, where it is further amplifed for use with the sonifer.


Sonifier® S-250D digital ultrasonic processor includes the same features as the analong units, but also offers these additional operator benefits:
