RETSCH Planetary Ball Mill PM 100

RETSCH Planetary Ball Mill PM 100

Planetary Ball Mill PM 100Planetary Ball Mill PM 100Planetary Ball Mill PM 100

Planetary Ball Mills are used wherever the highest degree of fineness is required. Apart from the classical mixing and size reduction processes, the mills also meet all the technical requirements for colloidal grinding and have the energy input necessary for mechanical alloying processes. The extremely high centrifugal forces of the Planetary Ball Mills result in very high pulverization energy and therefore short grinding times.

The PM 100 is a convenient benchtop model with 1 grinding station.

Application Examples

RETSCH Planetary Ball Mill PM 100 alloys, bentonite, bones, carbon fibres, catalysts, cellulose, cement clinker, ceramics, charcoal, chemical products, clay minerals, coal, coke, compost, concrete, electronic scrap, fibres, glass, gypsum, hair, hydroxyapatite, iron ore, kaolin, limestone, metal oxides, minerals, ores, paints and lacquers, paper, pigments, plant materials, polymers, quartz, seeds, …

Function Principle

The grinding jar is arranged eccentrically on the sun wheel of the planetary ball mill. The direction of movement of the sun wheel is opposite to that of the grinding jars in the ratio 1:-2.

The grinding balls in the grinding jars are subjected to superimposed rotational movements, the so-called Coriolis forces. The difference in speeds between the balls and grinding jars produces an interaction between frictional and impact forces, which releases high dynamic energies. The interplay between these forces produces the high and very effective degree of size reduction of the planetary ball mill.

Planetary mills with a single grinding station require a counterweight for balancing purposes. In the Ball Mill PM 100 this counterweight can be adjusted on an inclined guide rail. In this way the different heights of the centers of gravity of differently-sized grinding jars can be compensated in order to avoid disturbing oscillations of the machine.

RETSCH remaining vibrations are compensated by feet with some free movement (Free-Force Compensation Sockets). This innovative FFCStechnology is based on the d’Alembert principle and allows very small circular movements of the machine housing that result in an automatic mass compensation. The laboratory bench is only subjected to minimal frictional forces generated in the feet.

In this way the RETSCH PM 100 ensures a quiet and safe operation with maximum compensation of vibrations even with the largest pulverization forces inside the grinding jars and therefore can be left on the bench unsupervised.

HANNA pHep Tester HI 98107

HANNA pHep Tester HI 98107

  • Renewable junction
  • Easy 1 or two points manual calibration
  • 700 hour battery life
  • Simple to use
  • Economical

The HANNA pHep® revolutionized the pH industry by providing non-technical personnel with a simple, inexpensive solution to accurate pH measurement.

HANNA HI 98107 is used by millions of people around the world to monitor pH in laboratories and industrial applications as well as in agriculture, fish farming, food manufacturing and quality control, swimming pools and the printing industry.

With a renewable cloth junction, the pHep® has an extended life over typical pH testers. A normal junction clogs with use over time and a typical tester would normally have to be thrown away once the junction is too contaminated. HANAN HI 98107’s junction is 2 cm long and when dirty, can be pulled out to expose a fresh section to effectively renew the pHep’s life.

Calibration is performed manually at 1 or two points with a trimmer located on the side of the tester.

With a battery life of 700 hours of continuous use, the pHep® will provide years of testing before the batteries need to be replaced.

Stuart Rotary Evaporator

Stuart Rotary Evaporator

Diagonal Condenser – RE300 & RE300P

RE300

Simple, counterbalanced lift mechanism
PTFE/glass liquid pathway for chemical inertness
Sparkless induction motor
Long life graphite impregnated PTFE vacuum seal
Efficient flask and vapour tube ejection system

Rotary evaporators are distillation units that incorporate an efficient condenser with a rotary flask system. As the flask containing the solvent is rotated it continually transfers a thin layer of liquid over the entire inner surface. This gives a very large surface area for evaporation that is effected by heating from the accessory waterbath. The rotating system is fitted with a special seal that allows the apparatus to be placed under vacuum. This reduces the boiling point of the solvents and removes the vapour phase making the process much more efficient.
Each unit is also provided with an easy to use vacuum release and a continuous feed system, which allows more solvent to be drawn into the rotating Florentine flask without the need to stop the operation.

There is also a plastic coating option for extra safety when using the glassware under vacuum. It acts as a safety screen, contains the glassware pieces and gives the operator sufficient time to transfer any potentially dangerous chemicals to a suitable vessel without spillage.

Rotary evaporator with diagonal glass condenser is used for standard distillations.

Glass set RE300 consists of:
Diagonal coil condenser, vapour tube for diagonal condenser, receiving flask 1000ml, Florentine flask 1000ml, feed tube with stopcock, vacuum seal, conical joint clip, spherical joint clip.
