Overview
easySpiral Dilute is an automatic spiral plater that performs the dilution series as well as the plating. Manual decimal dilution — repeated pipetting into tubes of diluent — is the slowest and most error-prone step in enumeration, and the instrument replaces it: up to five serial 1/10 dilutions are prepared and plated automatically from a single sample.
Because dilution and plating happen in one sequence, the sample is handled once, consumable use drops and the operator no longer decides which dilution to plate. The system handles samples up to 1.10^12 CFU/mL, so concentrated suspensions do not need pre-dilution by hand, and results remain traceable when the plates are read with the DataLink and Scan system.
