Overview

These Whatman cellulose nitrate membranes are the gridded, sterile 47 mm format used in microbiological laboratories, supplied as 100 per pack (Whatman 7141-104, also listed as 28297-732). The grid lines are clearly defined at 3.1 mm intervals, which makes colony counting and enumeration easier without obscuring growth.

The membranes are flexible enough to tolerate handling and loading without losing integrity, and are supplied sterile in individual packs with an absorbent pad inside a polyester envelope. A low level of extractables keeps background interference down in microbiological work.
