Scan 500 / Scan 1200 Automatic Colony Counters
Overview
The Scan range covers two automatic colour colony counters used mainly in food microbiology. Scan 1200 is the high-resolution model: fully automatic lighting, a digital camera and dedicated software let it count colonies including the smallest ones, and results are saved automatically to Excel. It connects to a PC over Firewire and is listed under reference 437 000.
Scan 500 is the efficiency model, an automatic colour colony counter that produces quick, traceable counting results. Both remove the operator-to-operator variation of manual counting and keep a record of each plate, which is what auditors and accreditation bodies ask for.
Counters pair naturally with spiral platers and traceability systems so plating data travels with the plate.
