Overview
DataLink is a traceability system for microbiological analysis that follows a sample from plating to colony counting. When a plate is prepared on an easySpiral automatic plater, the plating data — volume, dilution, time, mode and the rest — is written to a Datamatrix or QR code label on the Petri dish itself.
After incubation the label is read by the Scan colony counter software, which recovers all the information about the sample, including the plating parameters and the counter settings, so the operator simply presses 'count'. No separate database is required, and there is no re-entering of data and no transcription error. Results, photographs and comments can be exported for reporting and audit.
