The Motic AE2000 is an inverted microscope designed for routine live-cell inspection in university and laboratory settings. Motic lists applications including cell cultures, living organisms and tissue-culture samples.

- 45-degree inclined Siedentopf binocular head with 360-degree rotation
- N-WF 10X/20 mm widefield high-eyepoint eyepieces with diopter adjustment and rubber eyecups
- Side-facing quadruple nosepiece
- CCIS Plan Achromatic objectives: PL4X and LWD PL40X
- CCIS Plan Achromatic Phase objectives: PL Ph10X and LWD PL Ph20X
- ELWD condenser, N.A. 0.30
- Phase slider (Ph1, BF) and phase-centering telescope
- Halogen illumination, 6 V/30 W, with intensity control and sleep mode
